26th September 2000. H.E. Ambassador Eric Hotung and the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton attend the christening of the Hotung International Law Centre, which received a generous grant of US$5 million from Eric Hotung and began construction in the autumn of 2001.

Appointed as one of the directors of his alma mater, the Georgetown University from 1979-1985, Eric Hotung is famed for his humorous speeches and counts former President of the United States, Bill Clinton as one of his fans. Say Clinton, "I've always enjoyed your speeches and I thank you for your generosity."
